Joey and I wanted an Old Hollywood Glamour theme for our black tie wedding so I knew our groomsmaids gowns would be sparkly and black. I chose a different style for each of our friends based upon their body types and the look that I know they feel comfortable wearing.
Of course I wanted them to feel beautiful and confident but I also wanted to surprise them with the dress I selected for them, so none of them tried on the styles before we ordered them. Risky? Maybe a little. But we had everyone professionally measured so we knew the fit would be right. It was so fun to surprise them all with the dresses from my bridesmaid collection!
| Maria was dressed in Alexandra. I knew Maria would love an illusion top to her dress. We selected Alexandra because it provided sophistication and glamour, and showed off her hourglass proportions. The beaded illusion accentuated her upper torso, and gave her a beautiful and confidence look we always love about Maria.
Eda wearing Zoe was the perfect match. The open front layover of fabric created movement and offered the carefree fit that Eda loves. The Grecian top with sparkle was perfect. Eda loves strong statement jewelry and Zoe provides just that with its faux necklace halter.
Abby wore Grace. As the youngest groomsmaid we knew Abby would step out in style in this chrome sequin gown. A bold statement of fashion was great for Abby because it allowed her inner glamour model self to step down the aisle.
Slomique was dressed in Brooke. The scoop neckline and the fitted bodice is all Slomique, all day, and a great fit for her shape. We knew she would love the hint of edginess with the fashionable exposed zipper down the back. Plus we knew that she would be crazy without her cellphone and lipstick close by so the side pockets in Brooke were perfect!
Maja was our tallest groomsmaid so we thought the all over chrome sequins would add the right accent to the party ensemble, and we knew she would wear Hayley with style and confidence. She’s comfortable in strapless and Maja’s sexy long legs could peek through the side slit.
Yvonne loves everything that sparkles so Danielle, with its sparkling straps seemed perfect. The fitted waist was the right match for Yvonne's body type. We felt this was a great style for a shorter girl like Yvonne, as the design visually creates the illusion of a longer torso.
Tracy wore Sophie. We knew she wouldn’t want a low cut or revealing dress, and we loved the sparkle on her narrow shoulders to draw the eye up and accent her beautiful smile. She was comfortable and looked amazing.
In the end, we were so thrilled with how the gowns worked together while also supporting the personalities of our most trusted friends. And of course, I think each of these gowns would be fabulous for our favorite ladies to wear again to a gala or as a guest at a wedding. Don’t you?
